It’s been a crazy couple of weeks getting ready for the wedding, wrapping up work projects, sustaining fitness goals. We pushed it to the limit, but we went to the courthouse in Austin today to make this thing official before we head to Mexico. Between manicures and packing, it was just another errand, but we still dressed up and got a little choked up during the brief ceremony sandwiched between other people’s divorce proceedings and name changes. The ceremony had more flowery language and prose than I was expecting. When they were going through the vows, all about loving and honoring and sickness and health, I was just like, yep. Check. I’m already doing all that. I do. During the service, I saw a worker in the corner of the courtroom wipe a tear from her eye. We took some photos in the car on the way there.
