Ithaca days 1, 2, and 3

Oh blogreaders, I have forsaken you. Ithaca was so filled with family fun time that I barely had time to blog. Let me catch you up on what we've been up to.

It was a beautiful drive from the Rochester airport to Ithaca, filled with precious "only child time" with my parents. Hilary met us at the beautiful B&B she arranged for us. Our room had . . . wait for it . . . hydro-massage-tub!

In the morning we raided the basket of goodies the innkeepers left for us. There's nothing better than having your mom make you breakfast again. Good times.

Then we got to see Hilary and Javier's new condo. They have put so much work and money into it and it looks great. I wish someone would do that for my house. I gave Hilary her Girls Girls Girls shirt and it was a big hit. She wore it the next day. Javi got a Bookpeople "keep Austin weird" shirt too, which he liked.

We walked around downtown, where there's a cute pedestrian mall. Then we ate at the famous vegetarian Moosewood Restaurant, which was delicious and healthy too. After lunch we dropped Jon off at home. He was still sick and recovering.

In the afternoon we drove around campus and saw some beautiful views from the art museum on campus. We went on the super scary suspension bridge over a river and waterfall.

We also visited many waterfalls and gorges in the area. Some in parks, one in Hilary's backyard.

In the evening we ate at the Lost Dog cafe. After dinner we went hunting for some internet access and the only place that was open was the super Christian coffee shop. There was much debate over whether we should buy anything there. The latte was great. Then back to the B&B to watch the convention.

On Day 3, we went on a hike in Hilly's backyard, to a park to see a waterfall, to lunch a Vivo Mexican restaurant, to the sidewalk sale downtown where mom bought me a hat, to the farmers market, and to the Best Thai Restaurant in NY State for dinner, then back again for the convention to hear Kerry speak.

I got to spend a lot of quality time with my dad too, which is always awesome. We get to be silly and dumb together and cuddle a lot.

The other main theme of the visit was the resurrection of the Tivo. With Jon’s persistence and expertise, Hilary and Javi’s Tivo is restored!
