Today,

- We got a ride from a really wired cabby at about 5:30 am, who purported to sleep 20 hours a week, and had a life changing experience when he figured out what the sound of one hand clapping was. He couldn’t tell us, but guaranteed the answer (when we found it), would also change our lives..

- We had bagels from “America’s best bagels” at the airport. They were not America’s best bagels.

- Our two flights, both on small jets were surprisingly short. We left Austin at 5:30 and arrived in Canada at about 1:00. Although it was something of a hike from the gates to customs, getting through customs took no more than 10 minutes.

- We got a ride from a 50 some year old cabby who discussed the ins and outs of stepfamily, and the unpredictability and strength of cupid’s arrow. He didn’t seem to know the streets downtown very well.

- We unpacked at the bed & breakfast and took a walk. Montreal is very much a city and there were a lot of bustling people and a surprising number of folks just sitting on the sidewalk, minding their own business. We saw a lot of interesting graffiti and a particularly disturbing McDonalds ad. We were starving at this point, so we got some lunch, returned to the bed and breakfast and took a nap

- We saw an unsettling McDonalds billboard, that continues to wierd us out when we walk past it.

- We saw some interesting grafitti.
