Montreal Day 3

I did the tourist thing big time today. I took the subway to the Olympic stadium. I went up the leaning tower, the biodome, the botanical gardens, and the insectarium.

The biodome was by far the most awesome. It was like a zoo, but not as sad because the animals were in their natural habitat. Plus, it had the audio guide headphones which is the best way to experience a museum.

I've decided I no longer want a pig for a pet, I want an otter. They are the coolest. Plus I saw the biggest rodent on earth. Lots of cool fishies and monkies too.

The botanical gardens were gorgeous and huge. There's a tram that goes around the park so you can see it all. The most stunning part was the Chinese garden, with pools, temples, waterfalls, and a bonzai garden. There just happened to be a traditional Asian musical performance while I was there.

Then we went for dinner to a celebrity hot spot with some seriously overpriced nasty food. In the back of the restaurant was a wall of plates signed by celebrities like Keanu Reeves and Ethan Hawke.

After dinner we walked through the McGill campus and down a beautiful street that leads up to the campus. It's laid out so that Mont Royal provides the backdrop to the lovely old buildings of the campus and the wide street with lots of public art stretches out down in front.
