Day 6 (Esteban and the Zip Line)
Pretty laid back morning. We:
- Swam
- Ate pizza
- Said hello to dogs (chester & bam bam)
- Saw some white faced monkeys
- Got bitten up by some of Chester's fleas during lunch
At about 3:00 we headed for our second adventure, zip lining through the rain forest.
This one was much, much more fun than I had anticipated. We had a great tour guide, Esteban, who drove us to the zip line site, through pretty tough muddy terrain (it was raining). En route, we saw a toucan hanging out in a tree and eating papaya, and a series of beautiful rain forest views.
The zipline was truly impressive. The forest was really beautiful and there was a slight rainfall misting over the canopy. While this made the breaking aspect of being on a zip line a bit tricker, flying thorugh the mist among the treetops was really incredible. Shana did scream a little bit. . . Surpisingly enough this trip, although shorter, was more exciting and rewarding than the horseback ride. We saw more animals, and being up in the canopy- Moving through the cannopy really, was impressive.
Esteban drove us back to town and was kind enough to show us where to stop for a cuban cigar in Puerto Jimenez.
We ate dinner at the perl, and after spending some time reading, headed off to bed.
