July 7 – 11th Paris
Our first full day in Paris, I spent with Mike and Annabelle, our friends that came to the wedding. It was their only day in Paris, so we really packed it in. Fontainebleau Palace, Notre Dame, Sainte Chappelle, Jardin de Tuilerries, Place de Concorde, Arc du Triomphe, Eiffel Tower.
The next day I went to The Louvre and more formal gardens.
Another day I went to Sacre Couer, Monmartre, Moulin Rouge area and the Musee D’Orsay, seeing in person some works of art I'd heard of my whole life.
Sacre Couer
I had a great morning trying out the Parisian lifestyle—shopping in specialty stores for baguette, cheese, fruit, jam, newspaper, and café. One evening we went to a fancy/funky music venue and gourmet restaurant to see some fair to middling music groups compete in battle of the bands.
One morning we strolled around the Seine, across Pont Neuf, over to the Latin Quarter for breakfast at a place for French Intellectuals. Then we headed over to Shakespeare and Company for some book shopping.
